Iron Clad Store

The Iron Clad Store was so named for the exterior was covered with fire-proof siding to prevent it from being set on fire by sparks from the steam locomotive as it parked nearby to load & unload the freight.
The store was not only the freight depot and general store, it was the post office and "cracker barrel" gathering place. There are many items from the past displayed as it looked when it was still open. The store built in 1891 remained open until 1968.
