Thank you to our wonderful board of directors who make time in their busy lives to serve this fine historical site's preservation of farm tractor history and our 1890s Village Museum Site birthplace of John Froelich's invention of the first gasoline powered tractor able to propel itself backward & forward in 1892. We strive to preserve this fine one-of-a-kind history for many generations to come!

Our Mission

The Froelich Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 1986, has set a goal of preserving farm tractor history at Froelich, Iowa, village. It was once a thriving community that boasted of a railroad depot, sawmill, blacksmith shop, a creamery, a post office (still in the general store), stockyards, ice house, barber shop, shipping warehouse and 1866 Froelich One Room School.
